Every year in October my wife Diane and I would go to California on our anniversary, then came September 11th 2001 and the world changed. Airline tickets purchased and hotel reservations made and we didn’t feel comfortable flying, so the search started for a different destination, I came home from work one day and Diane told me she had made reservations at an Inn in Door County (long ago recommended by a dear friend) and once again our world changed, but this time for the better. We had the fortune to hit the “peak” of the autumn colors and from start to finish it was a vacation that had no equal, we had found a place that not only equaled but surpassed any beauty that we knew from the fall season in our native New England a connection was made that grows stronger every year.
